Since Lulu spent the winter in the water, we needed to lift her up and clean her hull and perform basic maintenance. We chose \u00d6cker\u00f6 Harbor in the Gothenburg area, and it was a great place to get work done, we recommend it highly. Not only did they have everything needed to get the work done (water and electricity easy to reach); they also had a very nice service house and there is even a small caf\u00e9 with a delicious menu, right on the harbor. As an added bonus, we had beautiful weather, sunny and warm so it wasn’t a problem getting soaked while washing the boat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Magnus drilled his first holes through the hull of the boat installing our Remoran Wave 3 hyrdrogenerator. It will be exciting to test it out in the water, the electrical bits still need to be hooked up but it was much easier for the installation to take place on land than in the water. He also mixed his first epoxy doing a bit of repair work, we will most likely need to do more so it was good to practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lulu cleaned up wonderfully, her prop looks like new and we replaced the offer-anodes so hopefully it will be good until we lift her next time. She has been washed, polished and waxed below the deck – we still have to polish and wax the deck – which was the goal. We even had visitors who came to admire Lulu! For those of you who are wondering, the “ropes” of metal that run from the propeller shaft to the rudder are intended to help move aside things like fishing nets that might otherwise get caught in the rudder.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
