It starts in Nazaré, Portugal because that is where we activated the subscription.

Some updates to prior statistics: (these are Jodi’s favorites, Magnus may have other ideas…)

Total nautical miles sailed to date: 2647
Number of countries visited to date: 8
Number of ports / stops to date: 44
Favorite harbor to date: Aeolus in Amsterdam (A Coruna is a close second!)
Best place visited to date: Madeira – it had it all. But Bruges is still worth a mention as a fabulous city.
Longest day trip to date: 76,4 – Guernsey to Roscoff, France
Longest straight sail: 480 nautical miles – Nazaré, Portugal to Porto Santo, Madiera (Portugal)
Diesel purchased – approximately 790 liters total
Best food to date – Portugal! Pastel de nata, espetada, espada (scabbard), vinho verde – yum! And reasonably priced for a poor Swedish krona-based budget.

Other thoughts on Spain and Portugal – it is so clean. There is no garbage anywhere. We think it is because they have large trash and recycling bins everywhere – anyone can throw away their trash in a bin. Garbage service is easily available to everyone, so everyone seems to use it. I think it is wonderful and a concept that more countries should use. If you have a problem with trash, make it easy and free for people to recycle and throw their stuff away. Sweden is partway there, it is easy to recycle, but they charge for trash collection by the kilo, which leads some people to do stupid things.

If you read these, leave a comment! It won’t show up immediately because I get so many spam comments from Russian hackers that I have to authorize all comments prior to publication, but it’s nice to know if there are readers besides the Russian spam-bots out there.

We have now been on our trip for 100 days, some days it doesn’t seem like we can have been gone that long, but when we look back at different places we have visited, some of them seem like a very long time ago.
