For those of you who wonder “what next?”, we are enjoying our weekends on the boat and exploring both new and old favorite places. Even though Lulu is in wonderful shape, there are still a lot of small things to be done. If you own a boat, you have to enjoy doing all the small repairs and updates, otherwise you will go nuts because there is always something that needs attention. Last weekend we added a new dinghy with a used motor, and Magnus spent much of the weekend working on the motor so that it is in tip top shape. The sprayhood had a broken zipper so we took it down and have had it repaired, and we have spent a lot of time just fitting in all of our stuff into the boat. It is like a puzzle, you have to get the pieces to fit just right in the space you have. During the coming year, we will be adding security updates as per the requirements of the ARC (https://www.worldcruising.com/arc/safety.aspx). So far, in addition to Lulu’s existing security devices and our new lifejackets and lifelines; we have mounted the fire blanket, added a light to the horseshoe lifebuoy, bought an SSB HF radio and a 3000 lumen searchlight. Lots more to come!
