Wheel-less

Boat Jobs

There’s always lots to do on the boat, and we are trying to do something every day to forward our project and be ready for our sailing adventure in June. Today Magnus took off the steering wheel in advance of servicing the steering column; and he also removed the electronic anchor winch from the stern. We are going to use the remote control unit to connect to the windlass in the bow, and will only use the stern anchor with a line that we manually release.

While he was working on the windlass, he noticed that the electrical connections in the anchor box were very rusty and corroded, so he has removed them and will be replacing them with a more modern solution and waterproof fuse boxes.

Since there is a lot of work to be done, we also emptied out a lot of stuff from the “garage”, so that Magnus could have a more comfortable working environment. Still not the easiest way to work, but better now that we don’t have two extra anchors, several fenders and diverse other items fighting for the same limited space.
