We have now been on our trip for 100 days, some days it doesn’t seem like we can have been gone that long, but when we look back at different places we have visited, some of them seem like a very long time ago.
If you want to follow our trip, we have activated our IridiumGo! and now we are tracked on a satellite even when we are alone on a stretch of ocean. We can be found at:

Copy the link to see a picture like the one in the blog, showing where we are and where we have been. It starts in Nazaré, Portugal because that is where we activated the subscription.
Some updates to prior statistics: (these are Jodi’s favorites, Magnus may have other ideas…)
Total nautical miles sailed to date: 2647
Number of countries visited to date: 8
Number of ports / stops to date: 44
Favorite harbor to date: Aeolus in Amsterdam (A Coruna is a close second!)
Best place visited to date: Madeira – it had it all. But Bruges is still worth a mention as a fabulous city.
Longest day trip to date: 76,4 – Guernsey to Roscoff, France
Longest straight sail: 480 nautical miles – Nazaré, Portugal to Porto Santo, Madiera (Portugal)
Diesel purchased – approximately 790 liters total
Best food to date – Portugal! Pastel de nata, espetada, espada (scabbard), vinho verde – yum! And reasonably priced for a poor Swedish krona-based budget.
Other thoughts on Spain and Portugal – it is so clean. There is no garbage anywhere. We think it is because they have large trash and recycling bins everywhere – anyone can throw away their trash in a bin. Garbage service is easily available to everyone, so everyone seems to use it. I think it is wonderful and a concept that more countries should use. If you have a problem with trash, make it easy and free for people to recycle and throw their stuff away. Sweden is partway there, it is easy to recycle, but they charge for trash collection by the kilo, which leads some people to do stupid things.
If you read these, leave a comment! It won’t show up immediately because I get so many spam comments from Russian hackers that I have to authorize all comments prior to publication, but it’s nice to know if there are readers besides the Russian spam-bots out there.
I read all. Interesting and many nice photos. Good luck with the preparations and the trip over the Atlantic when it comes.
Tack fina du 😍
I like knowing how far you have traveled. I think the large trash bins is a good idea. Keep posting and more pics of your view unless it’s just water. LOL Don’t know if you get news, but maybe you have heard of Israel getting attacked yesterday.
790 liter diesel, det är ju en segelbåt?!?
Förberedelser för ARC nu?
Vi slog nytt fartrekord idag med Karukera, 18,6knop.
Fair winds.
Hej Niclas!
Good to hear from you. It looks like you are off the coast of Africa, if that red dot is you. I am not sure what the colors mean, but I think the purple is land and the yellow is either wind or heat wave. Maybe you can tell us the meaning of the colors. Safe travels.
Hi Elizabeth! The colors were from a wind map, so purple/blue is no wind, then up through green and yellow to orange then red and dark red for the really strong winds. We try to sail in green and yellow where possible, as there are always gusts. We are in the Canary Islands, which is off the coast of Africa. Bests!
